CHECK OUT

Check out is 10.00am, please check out on time unless we have arranged otherwise.

STRIP ALL THE BEDS AND PLACE ALL USED TOWELS IN THE BATH TUB

Sort rubbish and recycling and put in the relevant bins outside the house

If the bins are not outside the house, they are by the entrance field gate as that is where they are collected from.

Turn the heating down if you have turned it up (to around 15-20).

Lock the patio door and close any windows

DIRECTIONS
The Cottage is at the top of Joss Lane, the postcode LA10 5AS will bring you to the lane but not the exact location. Carry on up the lane even though it looks like a dead end! Go through the field gate and straight ahead are the barns with the green letter boxes.
WHICH HOUSE?
Queen Cottage is the first house. The front door is located on the paved side adjacent to the neighbouring house, not the patio doors on the field side. 😊

HEATING
The heating is automatic and should be set for all your needs. However, if you need to turn it down or turn it up there is thermostats on all the walls. Please try and be as energy efficient as possible, this is how we keep our rental prices down!

Sometimes if this has been off it can seem to take a while to kick in, the house is underfloor heated so takes a little time to run through all the pipes and heat up the house. Usually, if the hot water is working there is no faults and should warm the house no problem once the temperature thermostats are increased. There are thermostats in each room.

HOT WATER
This is an air source system so the hot water turns on first thing in the morning and in the evening. If you use the hot water outside of those times up then it will not heat up until the next timing.
Therefore, if you need additional hot water, you will need to press BOOST in the first cupboard next to the bedroom.
BATHROOM
There is shampoo/conditioner and shower gel provided! There is also plenty of towels for you and your friends/family.

HERB GARDEN
There is lots of herbs growing in the planters outside, please feel free to help yourself.
RUBBISH / RECYLCING
There is a general rubbish bin in the kitchen cupboard by the fridge, please use the bin bag provided.
There is a recycling bin next to door to the toilet upstairs. Please put all recycling into the blue bin but ensure this has been cleaned and is appropriate for recycling.
There are specific bins outside for all different items. Bins are collected on a Wednesday from down the drive in the bin area near the main field gate, so if you can’t find the bin it could be there.
MAIN BEDROOM BLIND
This is controlled by remote control next to the door.
HOT TAP
You do not need a kettle, there is a boiling tap on the sink if you just turn this away from you hot water will flow. Turn this on underneath the sink if you are experiencing any issues. Ensure children do not play with it and don’t risk testing it with your finger!!
WASHING MACHINE /DRYER
There is a washer dryer in the kitchen, please do try and not use the dryer as much as possible, there is a maiden in the children’s bedroom cupboard for drying clothes.
If the washing machine is leaking please stop the machine. This will be because the seal around the barrel has fallen out of place, just adjust and this should stop leaking.
CLEANING EQUIPMENT

FIRE PLACE

It is lovely to have a warm place and there is enough wood for a first fire to have a cosy first night in!

Only kiln dried logs must be used on the fire, do not just burn random wood, this damages the fires

Please bear in mind, THIS GETS VERY VERY HOT, this is very dangerous for children and please remember not to place anything on top of the fire.
-
Please ensure that the ashes are not disposed of while hot as this can cause a fire.
TVs/LIVING AREA
-
There is a PlayStation and some games provided in the children’s bedroom.
-
There is also a main tv which is connected to Netflix.
SEDBERGH AREA
Pubs in the village, all walking distance:

The Black Bull – for fine dining and small bar. In the summer there is a pizza area and outdoor beer garden that often has live music.

The Thirsty Rambler – Small bar but check for opening times as not always open

The Red Lion – Small cosy pub

The Dalesman – fine dining and small bar. Does a smaller and cheaper menu in the summer outside.
